Tropical Cyclone Fina Darwin - Track, Impacts and Warnings

Severe Tropical Cyclone Fina developed as an early-season system in the 2025–26 Australian region cyclone season, forming approximately 260 kilometres north of Darwin on 18 November 2025. The storm intensified rapidly while tracking southward, ultimately reaching Category 4 status with maximum sustained winds of 200 km/h before dissipating eight days later.

Fina’s trajectory brought it perilously close to the Northern Territory capital, prompting widespread preparations and emergency warnings. Although the cyclone did not make direct landfall on the city itself, its proximity generated gale-force winds, substantial rainfall, and significant infrastructure damage across the greater Darwin area.
